The soft power of the European Union has played an important role in its enlargement policy as demonstrated by the transformation of Central and Eastern European countries. In addition, the EU increasingly sees itself as a soft power that should use norm diffusion as a source of influence in its relations with the neighbors and around the globe. The gloomy prospects of further enlargements however question the leverage and potential of EU soft power in the future and call for further examination thereof. The conference addresses various aspects of EU foreign policy and analyzes the type and degree of influence that it asserts.

A rendezvény célja, hogy szakértők, politikusok, újságírók és maguk az állampolgárok bevonásával választ találjon arra a kérdésre, hogy milyen képet közvetít a hazai média az Unió működéséről, továbbá hogyan lehetne a témát eladhatóbbá tenni annak érdekében, hogy az EU ne csak a „brüsszeli vízfej”, illetve a „bürokratikus pénzforrás” szinonimája legyen a választók számára.
