The recent invalid constitutional referendum and the forthcoming parliamentary elections indicate that politics does not get less complicated in the Republic of Moldova. The small country on the frontier of the European Union has been experiencing a political deadlock since the parliamentary elections of April 2009, when despite achieving an absolute majority in the legislation, the Communist Party that governed the country since 2001 was not able to put its presidential candidate into power.
